Singita is Africa’s premiere luxury safari brand and a leader in conservation and true sustainability through interdependence. A remarkable collection of twelve luxury lodges and camps set across three different countries, their balance of hospitality, conservation and community is what sets them apart from their competition (and earn countless awards and recognition).

Since 1925, when James Fawcett Bailes first purchased a breathtaking tract of land in the Lowveld (the present-day Sabi Sand Reserve), the Bailes family have shared this breathtaking part of the world, while preserving the natural environment and building long-term value within the surrounding communities.

The Challenge

How do you build a website for some of the best hotels in the world, from the opposite side of the world? That was the challenge Wallop took on. Singita had recently invested a lot of resources on their former website. But it failed to deliver. We were tasked with rebuilding the site from the ground up, on a responsive framework, in a way that would make it easy for guests from around the world to plan the trip of a lifetime.

Stephen spent a couple of weeks learning about the organization, visiting lodges, and meeting with the executive team.

The Result

Working closely with the Singita team, Wallop designed and developed an elegant responsive website that supported this impressive portfolio of lodges and camps. We relied heavily on a stunning collection of photography and video to tell the story of Singita. Built on a robust multi-platform CMS, we streamlined navigation, integrated a custom booking interface, and developed custom tools to help users navigate content that can be intimidating and foreign to many.

The new website is also supported by a comprehensive SEO strategy, PPC campaign, and targeted digital advertising. We’ve also implemented e-commerce tracking to continually refine and optimize for conversions.

The new digital strategy will continue to grow the collection’s global reputation as a leader in luxury, adventure, sustainability, and conservation. After all, the best hotel in the world deserves one of the best hotel websites in the world.
