Set amid lush vineyards that extend as far as the eye can see, the Royal Champagne is a former coach house with a unique blend of traditional French hospitality infused with a contemporary décor in a stunning environment. All rooms have a breath-taking 180° views of the Champagne vineyards, which are registered as a UNESCO world heritage.
At the beginning was a challenge we face often with new hotels: we needed to make a big splash before opening, but lacked any visual assets or marketing foundation to build a solution on. We needed to get people excited for something new and a bit abstract; a refined luxury experience in the remote countryside of the Champagne region.
Royal Champagne was a brand new property with high aspirations to lead the market. So it was crucial that we build a strong foundation that would support future success on our digital campaigns. So we took a disparate collection of videos, renderings, high expectations, and got to work.
Our solution followed the hotel’s formula of gracefully blending the traditional with modern. We relied on an agile roll out for the website that allowed the platform to scale from a single page with video to a full website. We used transitions, in page elements, and subtle animations to build visual interest while letting the beautiful photography take center stage.
The website was supported by a tailored digital marketing program that provided a strong foundation for this new website. Early results showed strong gains, and we expect the performance to continue through 2019.
